HEAD COACH MARK PALUSZAK

Mark Paluszak begins his first season as head men’s and women’s golf coach at his alma mater.

A 1995 graduate of Otterbein, Paluszak earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference, all-district, and All-America honors three straight years while playing golf for the Cardinals. He finished second at the NCAA Championships his senior year after posting the low round (68) of the tournament. Over the course of his career, the Cardinals finished eighth, fifth, and second, respectively, at the NCAA’s.

“I am extremely excited to return to my alma mater to coach,” Paluszak said.  “I was part of Otterbein’s very first appearance in the national tournament in 1993, and eventually played in three. There is nothing better than playing at the highest level of competition, and I look forward to recruiting the state’s top student-athletes to ensure the program’s success.

“I will give my student-athletes the necessary tools they need to succeed in the classroom and compete at the highest level on the course,” Paluszak added.

Paluszak, a Westerville resident, works in membership sales for Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio. In addition to selling memberships, he networks with local businesses, creates new marketing pieces, and attends seminars with local realtors to help promote the business.

ASSISTANT COACH TIM FORD

Tim Ford begins his first season as an assistant golf coach at Otterbein College.

A 1986 graduate of Campbell University, Ford was a four-year letterman on the men’s golf team. He earned All-Big South honors as a senior, helping lead his team to the conference title. Ford earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Coach Ford owns and operates an independent insurance agency. He and his wife, Darlene (Scheehle), a 1992 graduate of Otterbein College, have two daughters and live in Lewis Center.

ASSISTANT COACH JOE GORDON

Joe Gordon begins his first season as an assistant golf coach at Otterbein College.

Gordon coached boy’s golf at St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus for three seasons. A 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University, Gordon earned his degree in business administration.

Coach Gordon owns and operates Gordy’s Restaurant, which is located in Westerville. He and his wife, Mary, have five children and live in Dublin.
